How To Setup Monitors On The X32 (or M32) Sound Console

preview_player
Показать описание
In this video we take a look at setting up monitors on the X32 or M32 line of consoles. We talk about Pre-Fader vs. Post Fader settings, panning within a stereo MixBus, and even setting up a basic reverb specific to your monitors.

*** NOTE ***
Please make sure you save your scene on the console BEFORE you update firmware. Your current settings per channel will be cleared. You can reload your scene after update, but make sure to save your scene before updating.

Very helpful. It has taken me until now to understand the difference between the output tap point and the mix bus tap point…

I am so lost on the M32. But following along and making the changes on my board as you did in this video really opened up the idea that I can actually make this work....eventually. Thanks so much. Liked and subscribed.

@16:20 Is solid GOLD! Thank you for this. I had been having issues with this and "inserting" to have the reverb show up. Now I know I was way off of what I was trying to accomplish.

Enjoyed this Video. I subscribed! I do not run sound at my church; I'm on the worship team every Sunday, both EG or AG and harmony vocals. BUT I try to help out with Audio issues. Small church so either 4 or 5 musicians, plus a handful of singers. They have a "convoluted monitor system"! They have two floor monitors for the singers, one for an occasional AG, then floor monitors also for the bass player and drummer. BUT there's also a Power 16 setup for both of them. The worship leader just uses a Power 16, also the EG player. I do have some experience with Audio, as I have a Studio One Pro version 6 DAW, for my own songwriting efforts, so I do from recording through mastering for those. I've been on several worship teams over the course of time, and never experienced a "dual monitor system", cause to me, it's too confusing for the worship team overall. Thank YOU!

Actually drummers generally want some kick drum. It's often hard to hear it in loud situations.

How would you go about adding effects like reverb to the house mix? (you mentioned in this video - that you would only want the reverb to go to the monitors - but I think I am wanting reverb in the house as well - but would want to control that independently from the monitors mix)

Great info - except at 13:15 where you say you "can do some light compression in the monitor in case things get out of hand". Professional singers will immediately notice that there is compression on their monitor and will stop singing to avoid injury to their vocal chords. Amateur singers will change the way they are singing to try to compensate for the attack and release of the compressor, including trying to sing louder as the compression ratio goes up. They will leave with a hoarse voice, which is not a problem for amateurs, but it is a big deal for folks who make their living with their voice. And repeated straining against a compressor can/will cause vocal chord nodules to develop, which require surgery to remove.
The other 99% of this video was outstanding and helped me (an old analog guy) tremendously!

Hello Allam. Thanks for your Great videos. I have a Behringer X32 Compact at our little church and I am getting to feel my way in getting to understand it. Thats why your videos are so vital to me. One of my 2 main speakers output plugs (7 and 8) does not work ( plug 8). I switch both snakes and they do work in the same output plug (#7).The both perfectly in plug 7 but neither of them works in plug 8.Bothe speakers are great.
Do you know could have cause this? I know that both snakes are working, and both speakers are also working because when I switch the snakes in the same number 7 output plug both speakers work one at a time of course

Thank you very much.
Just one question. If I update The firmware of the mixer, i need to do the same for the rack on stage ⁉️ thank you

Thanks for the video! Question, how should you route a stereo signal from the keys channel to mono wedges? At a friend’s venue, the wedges always have a weird sound like there’s an issue with phasing. The house sounds great, just something is going on with the wedges

This is great info. I have a question for you. Is it possible to EQ a channel within a given IEM buss. example...I lead with an acoustic guitar but I don't like the way it sounds in my ear but the techs say it sounds great in the house. I really would like my D35 to sound like it was designed to. Your thoughts?

Very good. just the info I was looking for and some great tips. Do you have a video for routing to stage boxes?

For the mixbus outs. What's the difference between the pre/PST fader option in routing => "out" Vs in "CONFIG"?

Thank you for this video!! Question- at around 16:20 in the video you say when applying effects to the monitor bus, to deselect the stereo bus so it doesn’t go to FOH. What if I’m already sending some reverb and delay through the FOH but want to send a portion of those same effects to the monitors (IEM)? Could I just leave the ‘stereo bus’ selected/turned on for the corresponding effects stereo returns (on the 3rd layer down) in order to have the effects in both the FOH and monitor bus?
