In this video I'll show you how to take space from one partition or operating system and move it into another partition. Backup your important files before you attempt this!

Boot into a Live CD (Ubuntu etc)

sudo gparted to open the app

Right click ► Resize on partition to take from. Decrease the size as desired up to a max of your current free space.

Right click ► Resize on extended partition holding your 2nd operating system to make the free space accessible by the 2nd OS. Increase the size as desired (If any)

Right click ► Resize on your 2nd operating system and increase the size with the free space on your extended partition. Give it a lot of time to finish. Probably best for an overnighter.

I am so confused. You were telling us what to do and will happen without showing it. I'm new so I have no idea what you did. 😕 I hv sdd1(boot), sdd2, sdd3(swap), unallocated. I need to extend sdd1 boot partition using only 5gb of the unallocated space.

Really couldn't follow. More like you're telling a friend who already knows how to do it what you did.

Not a bad overview. Now I know how to do it. Don't understand why all the thumbs down. Also I have the same setup as you Windows-10 / Ubuntu Linux. Need to look for that G-parted app.

How do I expand a partition that is in the middle with no visible way to expand the partition?

He said "Once again" hundred times and each time, he repeated the complete process from beginning. Was a real mind blowing stuff

I don't know how you can't follow it.
1. Make a stick or dvd with live ubuntu or how it's called. The one that you can try ubuntu without installing it.
2. Insert the stick/dvd, rastart your pc and start live ubuntu. (the stick/dvd may not be visible so you'll have to make BIOS changes to booting order)
3. Open a terminal and install gparted (sudo apt install gparted).
4. Open gparted. (open a terminal and write "gparted", press enter)
5. Right click on the partition that you want to make smaller. Click "Resize". Use the mouse to make the bar as small as you want, if you want more free space, make it more small.
6. Right click on the partition that you want to make bigger. Click "Resize". Use the mouse to make the bar as big as you want. If you want to use all the free space that you won at 5., make it as big as you can.
7. Restart, remove the stick/dvd before the laptop opens again, profit.
Is it that hard?
