I have been using Chat GPT for a while to critique my work. I plug in a chapter and simply ask it to critique it (after giving it a persona to work with). I get really good critiques with things that work well, things that don't work and things that could be improved.
I have just started using it to help me develop a lexicon for my fae fantasy book. It is very good at evaluating consistency and will often suggest other words or roots of words to keep the consistency. I have also just started to use it to develop and evaluate some codes for a mystery thriller.
Finally I have been using it to brain dump ideas into which it will then put in a logical order, then I ask it to suggest an outlining method ... often it will suggest 2 or 3 and give the pros and cons of each ... and if I ask it to combine them (for example romancing the beat and character driven and 3 act structure) it will do that and give me a couple of paragraphs to show me what the outline would look like. So I can decide whether to go with that combination or not.
I am definitely going to try the tabletop gaming in my down time.
