Pretty sad the animation of this op is just nonexistant (just random jpeg scrolling through the screen and small sequences from the anime itself) because the music really had the potential to make an awesome op

Ah, Code Geass. This may come as a surprise but my favorite anime character of all time, one who stands above all others, is Lelouch Via Britannia. Yeah, I know. Compared to Shonen characters, like Naruto and even others like Edward Elrich, why Lelouch? I think a lot of it stands he's the banished prince archetype executed perfectly. It's funny I mention this because I'm usually not a fan of these characters and royalty in general. I find them hard to relate too and unless well written and or compelling, I'll usually go for someone else like the everyman archetype.

Lelouch is well written. His love for his sister Nunally, along with his friendship with Suzaku are some of the highlights. He genuinely wants to make the world a safer place for her, given she's all he has. She's the one who sees him and vice versa as people and not pawns. But obviously, Lelouch has plenty of demons and or issues. And his interaction with C2 clearly showcases this.

But what also draws me to Lelouch is who is he? Is he an anti-hero, villain, hero? Even to this day, so many people have a debate on this. Especially, when you place in context, of the ending which I'll say it to me is one of the finest endings of any series I've ever seen; where it becomes harder to define.

And I also love how Lelouch is a hyper-competent individual. What he lacks physically, he makes up for in charisma and intellect. And finally, I love how Lelouch's story represents a powerful theme in life. That while we as humans pursue actions and goals for the best of intentions; that can go astray.

We can lose our way or naively underestimate just how vast and hard it will be. And this can have immense consequences. Overall, that is why Lelouch Vi Britannia is my favorite anime character of all time.

This was (and still is) my favorite opening! It just makes me wanna sing along to it... but the episode was so sad... *sigh* Oh such grand memories...! ^^ ))
