Those workers, and workers from California, will obviously be needed to build the line through all those miles of empty desert. Temporary housing will also be needed, as commutes to the job sites would be very long. It would also been better if the line made it all the way to downtown Los Angeles. Instead, it terminates in Rancho Cucamonga, leaving riders coming from further west/the center of L.A., to poke along on Metrolink to reach the train station.

Pay attention, temporary work until the California border. This is going to be a fast job in Nevada. About, roughly 36 miles from south of the strip to California border. Victorville to Nevada is roughly 130 miles. And unions work differently by state. So guess who isn’t getting work?
