LENDING MONEY TO FRIENDS ☹

My mother has always said to me, never lend money, only give money you can afford to part with. No one knows your obligations, people always assume you have more than you have. If the person doesn't talk you after you lend them money, you weren't friends anyway..

I am yet to watch the video...but let me just drop this, any money I can't dash a friend, I won't bother to lend... Learnt my lesson.

It's okay to help friends only if it doesn't hurt you. However, when someone continues to ask for money, it's like they are using you or taking advantage. it's nothing wrong with saying no, sometimes.

Most times you give them money, they won´t even bother to call and tell you they´ve received the money, when you call them to know if they have got the money, all you will hear is ''am about to topup my phone and call you''.

Ppl living aboard are not honest about their situation... mi I live in the UK when I go overseas I make it clear I don't av money like that! They are telling me about their bills, hospital bills, school fees etc. I now tell them about my own bills, my own stress. I don't save all year and buy name brand cloths to impress ppl back home. They r living in 1 room aboard, working 2-3 jobs with no quality of life.

my Nigerian brothers and their mentality SMH.. Once people know that you are abroad, they believe that we pick money and we have everything rosy. Out of 10 calls received from Naija, 9 and half is from people expecting money and gifts from you. The most annoying thing is that even when you give, they never appreciate it and worst of all, they spend it any how. I have received calls like; ''you are shinning o, find me 100 dollars let me use and manage", so you expect me to throw money at you just like that after entering -30degree to work? Just because you are a so called friend?? Then when you beg them to go to NIPOST and send egusi to you they wont. II have cut off social media and changed my line. Back to the topic, I think the so called friend is just using all those stories to siphon money from his friend, and no that's not a Loan. Its a gift never to be paid back

I like this topic!! And yes your husband is right it usually comes from family members! I live abroad so they always text me asking for money but have no intention of paying it back. I just tell them upfront that I don't have the money!

This is sad but in Nigeria when a person begs you for money 90% of the time they have absolutely no intention to pay you back. bottom line don't give what you can't afford to lose.

My God your makeup in this video is on a million now that we've gotten that out of the way I think friendship should definitely be based on trust and being honest. Even if the situation is bad a friend should be able to say no and not feel a type of way about it! But you know people can be funny sometimes 😂😂
