Tekken Tips - What's While Standing?

"While rising" always made more sense to me and I never understood why people like to use "while standing". "While standing" makes it sounds like the character is already in a standing position as opposed to *rising* from a crouch state.

While standing is such a confusing term when beginning. Remember it as short form for while standing (up), and we use it instead of while rising so that the abbreviation doesn't clash with while running's abbreviation, both being wr.
I've always thought wrong term was changed, and we should have changed while running -> while sprinting.

Especially confusing taking into account we have a state called standing i.e. neutral stance, which in turn gets confusing if used because we have a term called neutral

genuinely the most difficult thing for me going from 2d to 3d was while standing, I had no idea it was even a mechanic until someone actually told me

Raise your hand if you don't even bother with these moves because during the chaos of the fight you get the input wrong and you do a crouch move/ neutral move instead ✋

I always found the term so confusing. While standing? So... like in neutral? Well no, it's "while (being in the process of) standing (up)."

I just call it rising. I know it doesn't work in notations, so when I write it down I do write "ws" but I still say rising, you know what I mean?

I think it should have been lumped up in the earlier part that you can do while rising stuff after you let go of crouch ---- or just after being forced into a crouch after certain moves.

I understand that it was stated in the later part of the video, but from the presentation, it could be interpreted as just an afterthought. Just my 2 cents.

It should be firmly called 'While rising'.

“While rising” and “while standing” are the same thing, but when it comes to notations “while standing” is more helpful. Reason being because there’s also a notation that utilizes “WR” known as “while running”, so “while standing” or “WS” helps to differentiate “while running” and “while rising”. (Both are “WR”. Confusing, I know.)

"While Rising" makes more sense and sounds better than "While Standing" I get that why the community had to use a different term because it conflicts with "While Running" in a abbreviated form WR. I still call it While rising though cause it just sounds better in my head but write down as WS.
