Vistara CEO Says 98% Pilots Signed New Contracts, Operations to Stabilise Soon

Vinod Kannan, the CEO of Indian airline Vistara, said that more than 98 percent of the 1,000 pilots have signed new contracts. He added that Vistara hopes to stabilise flight operations by April 7. His statement came after a section of Vistara's pilots raised concerns about the new contracts that will reportedly result in pay reduction. A significant number of pilots had taken sick leave following the announcement of new salary rules, which coincided with Vistara's merger with Air India. The pilot shortage led to the reduced number of Vistara flights, with the airline offering refunds and compensation to all its affected customers this week.
