Great story. My dad was with Japan Airlines in the 80s and 90s, out of Chicago and he took my entire Elementary school class to Ohare Airport around 1991/92/93 time frame. He got us an airport tour, onboard tour of a JAL 747-400 (Jumbo Jet) that taxied away from the gate, but didn't actually take off. We all ate a real 1st class style lunch (which was world class fare at that time) and everyone got a gift bag upon disembarking the aircraft.
My dad worked so hard to make that so special for every kid (and the teachers too). My dad is an Amazing Salesman, extremely gifted, however his real gifts are seen in the way that he loves his family; such a hero to me!

I’m probably one of the few goofy passengers smiling and giddy for take off and landing. I love to go fast on the runway and I like the whoosh/EEEE of landing. Thanks to all of the pilots that make it happen . AND keep your seat belts buckled at all times.

I don’t think airline pilots get enough respect, they fly these massive aircrafts and are responsible for countless lives of the passengers everyday. These pilots seem cool as a cucumber, hats 🎩 off to all pilots out there, you have my upmost respect, thank you 🙏 ✈️

My dad was a Navy pilot and then he flew for TWA for 32 years and they actually snuck me into the cockpit in the jump seat right behind my dad. That was during Jimmy Carter era like in the 70s. I got to fly the whole way behind my dad. He was a captain and it was in a 707 gone from JFK to Dulles in DC. Best damn, flight I’ve ever had in my life. After that my dad was my hero. ✈️

I wish i had the wisdom and courage to do what these men and women do everyday! I love to fly as a passenger, but i just dont believe i have the courage to fly myself. I am grateful for all the men and women who tirelessly serve us by flying us nonstop around this big blue ball we call earth. 😊❤
