The one that made me sick to my stomach was when Momo was pretty much forced to lose 15 pounds in a week on the ice cube diet. She was telling the story all casually while Jihyo and Jeongyeon look disturbed.

The kpop industry is unhealthy on all levels. Forced diets, no mental health care, sexualized, almost no sleep, no privacy, mistreatment, punished behind the scenes, forced to engage in things they shouldn't be. It's darker than they show. I support groups but, I'm getting more and more bothered by the secrets of companies coming out along with what ex idols and staff talk about. It's quite disturbing.

Losing 4kg in a day is simply a water cut, not actually losing weight.

Yeojin's story hurts me a lot as an orbit because we now know how her company starved the girls. They'd take the bowls out of their hands while eating, Chuu ended up with bulimic tendencies for a time and was scared of putting down her bowl while eating because she thought it would be taken away, like she openly admitted all of this. I wish none of this happened, it's so engrained in an idol's mind that they lose their grip and think these things are normal until it's too late sometimes. Yeojin has always been SO small at being under 5ft tall, she must feel extra pressure to be skinny compared to taller people who look skinnier by default, she's always been underweight and I'm scared it'll ruin her health in the longterm, it could make me cry ):

It’s the knetizen for me, they shamed idols bc they are too « fat » for them, but then when the idols go on an unhealthy diet bc of them, they pretend to be shocked and bullied them bc idols can influence younger fans, yes of course, as if it was not their wickedness that made young fans believe that weighing more than 45 kg was bad

What people forget too is that yes they’re eating barely anything but also they’re spending 8+ hours dancing and doing cardio on top of it almost daily. Starving yourself alone at home isn’t going to yield results like idols…I hope people stop trying these extreme diets at

When 1 idol told you they are on a diet by not eating anything, it's possible that people around her/him is doing the same thing. Because that would be considered normal. Also for fans who judge the skinny idols because how they do their diets and still expecting their idols to be skinny, is just ... ☠️

Idols should be able to eat as much as they want. They burn the calories during rehearsal and training etc. They're just constantly operating on a caloric deficit at this point, that's why so many have health problems and end up going on hiatus.

I love Karina and im so happy for her that she can eat delicious food but I do understand why people are criticizing her.. it's a very unhealthy way to go about losing weight and maintain a slim figure

idols should not be forced to lose weight, companys needs to start realizing that forcing an idol to lose weight is unhealthy and dangerous, talent is more important that visuals!

And fans still claim that they’re “naturally skinny” and praise idols who are underweight like Somi, Lisa and Wonyoung for their “tiny waist”

“Sometimes she can eat a whole pizza by herself” …. Isn’t that normal?? Y’all not eating a pizza solo??

If these idols are in “ excellent physical condition” when why are they sleep deprived? Why are they only thinking about food? Why are they constantly weighting themselves? Why are they eating so little? The list goes on, but my point is that this has always been unhealthy. All of this is for aesthetic health. It’s to fit the Korean standard of beauty which is already unrealistic and danger for one’s health. As I get older, it sickens me more and more heads of companies ideals for their idols. Like jyp who says he cares about his idols health and that’s why he has an organic cafeteria and yet momo had to subject herself to eating ice cubes because they wouldn’t debut her if she didn’t lose weight.

I have been having a meal a day because I feel I don’t get put into the competition teams or important choreographies because the other girls are skinny and I’m not, I got told once I ruined the overall visual. If I get stressed about that I can’t imagine how idols must feel

When me and my mate were around 7 we found that ice cubes would work as snacks without gaining weight, we could chew them which sorta satisfied hunger. We were seven.

Somebody’s weight does not determine how talented and beautiful they are. Company’s really need a reality check and to start caring about their idols/trainees. Just the thought of them being so hungry but not being allowed to eat breaks my heart. It’s so wrong
