Unlike other veins, the pulmonary veins carry oxygenated blood. However, they still fulfill the same job as other veins: carrying blood back to the heart.

There are four pulmonary veins in total, two connected with each lung:

- Left inferior pulmonary vein
- Left superior pulmonary vein
- Right inferior pulmonary vein
- Right superior pulmonary vein

The right pulmonary veins carry blood from the right lung into the left atrium of the heart, whereas the left pulmonary veins carry the blood from the left lung into the left atrium of the heart. It can then be pumped into the rest of the body via the systemic circulation. The pathway from the right atrium to the lungs and then back to the left atrium is also called pulmonary circulation.

I don't understand if the R pulomonary vien go to the R artrium then to R ventrical is suppose to be go to polmunary artery then to the lung not to rest of the body. 🤔
