How Toggling ON and OFF Bluetooth/WiFi WORKS In The Control Center iOS 11

iOS 11 bluetooth/wifi control center toggle doesn't let you turn off the wifi or bluetooth service, how turning off and on Bluetooth and WIFI from the control center on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch works with iOS 11. In iOS 11 and later, when you toggle the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth buttons in Control Center, your device will immediately only disconnect from Wi-Fi and Bluetooth accessories. But Both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth services will continue to be available and stay turned ON, so you can use other important features. You have to still go into your phone settings to turn off the WiFi and Bluetooth services manually.

it sure is an inconvenience. apple always needs to implement something for the sake of it... getting so annoyed...

Yes!!! Apple needs to fix this. This is super annoying and even time consuming. I find it super inconvenient to have my battery drained due to unnecessary WiFi and Bluetooth connections

With all this 3D Touch stuff why can’t you 3D Touch to turn it off fully

I hate it. Because it still searches even after you disconnect. And drains your battery. That’s the reason I loved turning it off from the control center. It’s quick and easy that way and saves battery but now apple has ruined it with this new update.

So in other words there’s no point on toggling the WiFi off since it’s suppose to benefit iOS 11?

I use to have a samsung. Holding down the Bluetooth takes u to the settings. Gets you there faster to pair up with another Bluetooth. So much better! Idk why iOS haven’t don’t this yet. Come on IOS! Android has been doing this at least 5 years.

I hated and I wish they could undo it. But they probably won't :/

Reading through most of the comments, we all conclude that this is a nuisance. However, thanks to features like back tap you can assign a shortcut to run that will turn both off completely and there is no need to go to the settings application 👍

I think apple should at least do 3D Touch on the wifi and Bluetooth to turn them off completely on the next update... Otherwise it's so annoying...

Does this waste battery leaving it on?

It is inconvinient since i have had an iphone for almost 2 years and NOW i get why I always had the bluetooth on even tho sometimes i turned it off! Sometimes my friends see it on and tell me: why dont you turn it off? It consumes battery! And I think idk it just gets back on on its own!
Now that I know it doesn’t bother me but i dont consider myself so bad at technology as to be clueless about something like that!

This feature change drains my battery; I recommend offering an option to turn off the always on feature.

Want to keep an open mind on this but I don’t see the benefits of it. Wish it would just turn off completely.

Jamie. Make sure you cover the new screen record feature.

Is that why Bluetooth no longer automatically turns on after I restart my iPhone?

IMHO I like the way this is implemented and it's not a problem for me. I connect to my work WIFI maybe once a week at most, I felt it was a pain to disconnect from work WIFI because I would have to either turn WIFI completely or "Forget Network" which meant I had to always fill in my user name and password every time I needed to connect to that trusted WIFI. With this new implementation, it's fast and convent. Apple explained this in their Tips app under Featured > Disconnect Temporarily (4 of 5).
