Ninja Rescuer Frees Sleeping Seal

A perfectly executed rescue by OCN's chief stalker Antoine: he patiently approaches the entangled animal and waits for the perfect moment to launch his rescue attack. With one smooth cut, a piece of packing strap is not longer a fatal death trap and the animal is free. It happened so fast, the seal might not have realised what happened, and he definitely seems a bit upset. Luckily we are not here to make friends, we are here to mitigate the consequences of ocean rubbish and plastic pollution, and we share his anger. Stop throwing rubbish into the ocean!

Good job Antoine. I loved the way you talked to the other seals. “just passing by”. I don’t know what you’re crawling on but it doesn’t look all that steady and your accuracy with that hook is astonishing. One jerk of the hook and another seal saved to go on living a normal life.
