“The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to such a pass that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love, and in order to occupy and distract himself without love he gives way to passions and coarse pleasures, and sinks to bestiality in his vices, all from continual lying to other men and to himself.” -Dostoevsky

I used to read lots of self help books during my childhood which made me look at the life in a certain way, though i could not live that way. This become a source of conflict in my head, blaming myself for not living a life the way i think. JP made me realize that those thoughts were not mine, but taken from those books and I was not supposed to live my life according to the thoughts of those writers.
This lecture was more than that. It has cleared so many erratic thoughts of mine which were the source of constant conflict in my head and pain for heart. Thankyou JP

Yeah, definitely one of the best lectures ever, on any subject. It's life-altering -- there's no other way to put it. We are so fortunate to be here.

Applause at the end signifies a performance worthy of respect and admiration. Dr. Peterson's immense knowledge, poetic description, insightful embodied realizations are a gift to humanity. His competence of the human pysche and how we behave is Genius level.

I love his bow at the end; it's not him taking a bow congratulating himself on having just delivered a lecture, but rather a bow in the service of honoring the students' well-being as they go forth into the world.

This video literally changed my whole perspective on life. I know people say stuff like that very flippantly but it really really did. Probably the most important video I have ever watched. Thank you Dr. Peterson.

Professor Peterson,
I’m a Special Education Teacher. Many years ago, I applied late to teach summer school. The only opening was to teach Severely Impaired High School Students. I needed the money, but was revolted at the prospect of changing diapers on 17 year olds. Within 2 days of my summer school job, my life’s meaning became as clear as Chrystal. To Serve Others. My students only wanted to love the world and everyone in it. I was humbled in knowing I was a fortunate man to serve Human Beings who had never sinned in their lives. My life was full of Joy as they were my teachers. When I witnessed a mute Down’s Syndrome student insist on helping feed a blind quadriplegic girl before he would touch his lunch...Yes, I experienced Heaven on Earth and it completely changed me.

I got chills down my spine form 1:05:57. It seems so true, and even if it isn't, it's a good philosophy to live in.

I absolutely love watching Dr Peterson synthesize on the fly.
Synthesizing and communicating ideas gleaned from this subject matter is not for the intellectual lightweight at all!
Exquisite!

JP continues to change my life in such an amazing way! His insight has made me soo much stronger and informed! Everytime I "think" I've just finished watching his "best lecture", I then run into yet another lecture of his, that blows my mind! I just can't get enough of JP! I call him a "modern day philosopher"! 😎👍🏽

Whew, just finished #11. After every lecture in this series I understand more fully why Marxists hate him and attack him with dishonest accusations of Naziism, sexism and other nonsense. it's because he absolutely annihilates their arguments by shining light on them. Bravo, Dr. Peterson. Thank you so much for making all of these great thinkers accessible to people like me.

I’m always taken back by the collective works and brilliants of these lectures. The materials has made a profound impact in my life and I feel lucky to be such a young man and stumble into theses teachings. I feel more rounded because of such.

Everytime I watch one of Peterson's lectures it makes me think about the dreadful teachers I had in Glasgow and how they made school something I hated, thankfully I read and am self taught but and I hope these kids realise what an absolute gift it is to have a teacher like him who makes the subject come alive. what an awesome teacher.
