If the robotaxi is actually self-driving, why couldn't it be more compact, considering many taxi rides are 1-2 people and there won't be a driver taking space in the vehicle (aking to taxi or most Uber/Lyft rides). The larger robotaxi makes more sense for larger groups of people all going to the same location from the same location, unless you want to try and use a public transit or Uber Share model.

Another Tesla model is coming? Considering we're still waiting for the roadster and the cybertruck, I won't hold my breath that it will be available any time soon.

One of the features of the cybertruck is it does not require paint because it has a stainless steel exterior. Perhaps a similar arrangement could be made for a 25K car. I can see it being like the old Volkswagen bug with a reputation for being small and reliable and easy and cheap to maintain.

I wish someone would make a car without all of the unnecessary crap like fancy door handles and trunks that open themselves. I'd like manual crank windows, I don't care. I don't tie my ego and identity to some piece of equipment I buy and I don't need it to perform a song and dance for my friends. I want reliable, cheap, comfortable and quick in that order. Less features = less weight and less crap to break.

a „compact“ car works pretty well here in Europe tho🎉 Streets are smaller and more narrow… so a Model 3 seems like a HUGE car over here. Compacts are stil big for me.. I drive a subCompact🥲😅 But I would upgrade to a compact Tesla any day🎉

The new platform will most likely share the foot print of the Roadster. That is probably why we haven't seen any Roadster updates. The Roadster adds low number high profitability to the platform and the small commuter justifies the Roadsters existence because the frame is already mass-produced.
The small platform will also allow for a small footprint driverless robo-taxi for tight, old-world cities like you find in the Mediterranean that have very narrow streets and minimal parking. A platform like this would easily see multi-millions produced annually.
I can see them using the IDRA 9000 to create a front to back casted frame that features a structural battery pack to improve structural strength. They may also be able to produce exterior castings to turn the entire vehicle into a 3-4 piece car that would cover 80-90% of all structural and exterior cosmetic components.

I think, "full self driving" level 4/5 will not come until 2030, but in Asia and Europe is a large demand for smaller, more favourable cars right now, so 1+1= ;)

My guess: gen 3 vehicle will be a VW Golf size. Perfect size for Europe and Asia.

He wants to have a 25K car that’s autonomous but then he wants to charge you $15, 000 for full self driving. I’m pretty sure that’s not gonna work out very well.

They didn’t say slightly smaller. They indicated perhaps half the size of the Model 3, when they said 2 for 1 implying half the cost, half the size, half the battery, half the seats, half the doors, half the cost of goods sale (COGS), and manufactured twice as fast.

Just try to find a parking space in many cities of Europe with the Model Y. Most European cars are compact with good reason.

Dacia Sandero/Logan are sub 10K USD gas cars. You add a 10K USD 50kWh LFP battery pack and still make a profit.

If Tesla 3 have a lot issues with quality build at 55k imagine a 25k.
