Zone Offense vs 1-3-1 Zone Defense

Keys to success: ‘1’ must attack the gap and make the top defender and the wing defender stop him/her. ‘5’ scores if open or makes a quick post move if there is a mismatch. ‘3’ and ‘4’ react to weak side defender and attack open space to make the pass from ‘5’ easier.

Elapsed Time: 5-10 seconds.

Helpful Drills: Reading Defense drills; Shooting drills; Finishing drills; Passing drills.

This zone offense against a 1-3-1 zone defense can be used for all levels, from youth basketball to college.
