EL&N cafe Brompton Road Review

I've got mixed feelings about this place. I've been to a few EL&N cafe's in my time, and had high expectations for this one. I went with my mum and two cousins. Unfortunately the customer service let them down!

Restaurant: EL&N cafe
Location: Brompton Road, London

Ambience: EL&N doesn't fail when it comes to being instagrammable! There was a lot of pink, pink trees and a huge sweetie wall, giant marshmallows and a giant pic and mix scoop. However, the plush pic n mix used in the giant scoop were really grimey and needed a wash!! We took a pic with them before we noticed!! Everywhere could have used a bit of a deep clean - especially in COVID times.

Drinks: The drinks were yummy and pretty, perfect for instagram and I took a lot of nice photos. There were lots of coffee options and mocktail options.

Food: The food was nice but not massively tasty, just average. It seems that food is made more for the way it looks rather than the taste. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't disgusting!!

Customer service: This was awful! They were clearly understaffed and we had to ask for service constantly. There was one waitress in particular who was actually rude. We asked her to take a photo of us and she said she was too busy and that we should ask one of her colleagues!! Now you can't claim that you are the most instagrammable cafe in London and refuse to take a photo!!! Even after we struggled to find anyone to take our photo. They should be more open to this.

Bathrooms: I think EL&N has missed a trick here because the bathrooms are basic and standard. You would expect an instagrammable place to have a little vibe in the bathrooms!!! They were relatively clean though!

Value for money: I think it's overpriced for what you get. Around £9 for a mocktail or coffee.

Overall: Average food, amazing decor, nice drinks, awful customer service.
