Great video! I'd add that you can set up a 125 on a budget if you look hard enough :) I got mine used off craigslist for $100 dollars and the cost of a few tubes of silicone to reseal it (maybe $20). I built a DIY stand for around $35 and a bit of paint, used a $10 bag of pool filter sand for substrate, and got a 4' led light (not an aquarium light) for $12. I added a few sponge filters (3 of them for around $15 total), a few pieces of driftwood (probably $60 total), some plants from the other tanks, and I was done. The most expensive thing about that tank is the discus that are in it. I run a linear piston pump in my fish room, so I didn't need to buy an air pump for my sponge filters, but that wouldn't add much to the cost. So the grand total was $252 to get the whole thing up and running.

I love my 125. It is way easier to keep stable than smaller tanks. I think the fish love a long swim area too. 😊👍

he is right, even my 55gal shocked me with how much i was spending on lights, decorations and fish along with the HOB filter and the chemicals to get started, i did use pool sand so that was cheap . i ended up over 500$ when it was done and the aquarium itself was given to me

Some nice footage of different 125 gallon tanks in this video, I kinda lost track of what was being said because I was so engrossed in the fish and tanks 😊

My largest tank is a 125. I love it! I have it set up for Ohio native fish; assorted sunfish and madtoms. I use a canister filter and a hob filter, which seems quite adequate.

We've always had small tanks, but we finally got a 125 gallon community tank last year and it quickly became our favorite tank. We love it!!

I love my 125. Currently a growout tank for my Oscars, Arrowanas and Severums before they move to the big tank.

How did you know this was perfect timing for me?(lol) I fluctuated between 150 and 125. I went with the 150. OMG it’s huge. Now it’s time for stocking it. I am going to start with 6 adult discus. Great video and perfect timing. I am getting the 150 6 foot long.👍🐠😁

Excellent video. Glad you mentioned quarantine tanks. They're so important. But just in case anyone ends up needing it, there are pond formulas of several common aquarium medications that will be more economical for large tanks like this than the standard aquarium versions. Just figured I'd share in case it helps anyone. Hopefully it won't be needed. 😊

Big bucks no matter how you slice it. I once had a 55, and it sprung a leak. I'll never forget it. Just rhe thought of that happening again had me drop down to a 20 high. Sometimes you just have be realistic...lol!!

We've had our 125g for about 3 or so months now. Originally, it was to only be an upgrade for our rescued red eared slider to have more room to grow, but we decided to chance it and add some fish to the mix; 2 plecos, about a dozen tetras, 3 gold panda mollies, and a couple opaline gouramis. In 3 months, the slider has shown no aggression towards the fish (which is pretty uncharacteristic). Oddly enough, we've unintentionally increased the amount of fish, as one of the mollies birthed a few; out of the 6 we could originally count, there were 4 that survived and are now larger than the tetras. It's a bizarre mix, but somehow they're all getting along.

Thank You, Prime Time Aquatics, for making common sense and realistic points throughout this upload. I especially like the advice about water changes and buckets. I often do 50% or more wc every 2-3 weeks on all 7 of my tanks and I'm sure the time it'll take to refill a 125 afterward would be a bit time consuming for most...not for me, of course. Like most fish keepers with multi-tank syndrome, I just can't wait for my first 125 or greater.
