What I really wish is that Hospice could help the “caregiver” more. My husband had MS and was bedridden for 8 1/2 yrs before he passed away. (I’m a retired nurse). He was an only child and his mom had him late in life, I live about 1000 miles from my family. I needed help. I had a 14 yr old and 12 year old and I was beyond exhausted by the time I knew time was getting short. I really needed an extra pair of hands to help me with his care. Repite care for me would have been such a benefit for our family.

Good evening! I’m currently traveling to see my mom who was placed in Hospice this week, and I just want to say, I found you on YT a year ago- and you have really made this process more relatable as I’m not sure what I will be facing. She is being well cared for with my two sisters who are there with her. Thank you!

Haven’t listened to the full live but I’ve been viewing your videos here and there for a while. I lost my mom on the morning of 6/2/24 and your videos were extremely informative and helped me prepare as she moved through the stages of actively dying. And I definitely understand what you’re saying when you say although its very sad that there is something beautiful and sacred about the whole process. How nature can slowly and relatively calmly (for the most part) ease you out of this world. As my wife and I sat with her in the room after she passed we both shared this same sentiment that somehow the last week and a half of my mom’s active dying was beautiful somehow. And this was the last thing I expected us to feel or think. And the experience really demystified and even removed some of the fear of death for both of us.

Hey Julie I've just been given my ticket home I just don't have a reservation yet. With myasthenia gravis, gastroparesis, diabetes and various arthritis conditions, 3, I've gotten the diagnosis of CHF. Can someone with CHF live a long time. Yes. I don't believe I'll be one of those people. No death wish. Kids, grandkids, 95 year old mother still alive and kickin it. Friends, church and a real zest for life. But no fear. Have loads of folks waiting on the other side and I know for those here it's a see you later not goodbye. But you are helping my loved ones here know I'll be fine. Whether in 2 years or 10 I'm going to be leaving this reality. Excited about the next adventure. Thanks girl.

My mom is all those things you just said. She has absolutely no quality of life… for 2 years. And it drags on. She mostly doesn’t even know I’m there and doesn’t acknowledge me most of the time. She just sleeps. We’ve even seen the talking to “someone” starting off and reaching. Yet I struggle keep hospice services

I was planning on getting my mom on hospice but she didn't make it through the holiday weekend. Went to heaven may 26th 2024. I wish i watched these a few weeks ago to understand better why she went downhill so fast. Walking 1 day and talking and in days was full assist and not talking or swallowing. She had leukemia recently diagnosed and a lung fungus they couldn't get rid of
