Getting in the Word is a discipline, but so very worth it. You're so right, it is like food! Our daily bread we can't live without. Love this video! I heard someone say once, "You don't have to 'feel' close to God to be close to God", and that's always stuck with me. So whether we feel that "fire" or not, we know that He is always with us, he never leaves us nor forsakes us. We can't lean on our feelings because they aren't God.. God is God! :)

Something that helps me to read the word is starting my morning off with worship music a bit loud. That may look like making my bed, coffee and morning routine before I get into the word.
