Id love to become one, but holy heck is it a lot of red tape... I can't even figure out where to start. The colleges make it way to complicated to find a starting point.

I've always been interested in personal finance, and after a few (successful) decades in high tech and now semi-retirement in my early 50s, am considering embarking on CFP as a second career. Given the work requirement, is it too late in life? Where would one start for entry level experience?

I have a bachelor’s degree in nursing from 1996. Will my BSN count?

What duty differences do you have compared to a normal financial advisor?do they still remain working and having the same designated areas under the same organisation as a normal financial advisor? Or do they get different jobs in the industry as a higher rank?

@3:37 "you must have a bachelors degree from an accredited university". What field of study must your bachelors degree be in?

What will be considered a relevant work experience? I got my LLQP license and work as a financial advisor in an insurance brokerage company for over 3 years. Does that count? Thanks!

Looks like a designation intended for people to start young base on the hours of education (bachelors degree) and work experience required. 😢

Is the Chartered Wealth Manager different from a CFP?

Personally, I’d rather have a financial planner who has made millions of dollars for himself through investments and business. That’s credibility no amount of schooling, studying or testing can ever match.

Were you doing sales as part of your work? I understand that sales is a big part of being a CFP, is that true?

Is it ok if you already have the bachelors degree and go for the CFP after? I graduated last year with my bachelor’s in Finance and I want to become a financial planner.
