I made it sound like people on the streets are talking about this axe. By “hype” i just meant….people swear by it in comments of videos. That’s all. 😂 BUT i will do a longer review of it today. See how it goes

I’ve had this axe for 3 years. Great axe. Never breaks never fails just keeps swinging until all the wood is gone. Went though an entire backyard stack and impressed my then girlfriend and now wife and her family and provided wood for everyone for the next 5 years. This axe literally contributed to my marriage.

Im a hobbyist blacksmith. Im going to make you an axe. Might go with a unique shape and a hickory handle. Stay tuned 🤣

I like the fact that you reviewed it honestly and pointed out the drawbacks.

In my house all knives for, cutting meat, fish, bread, etc. are Firskars. All shovels, hoes, garden tools for yard care are Fiskars, and so are my axes. Really good Finnish quality.

This axe walks the talk. I have used the crap out of it and have actually broke one splitting some black walnut. Fiskars was actually surprised when I told them, but had no hesitation sending me out a new one. They back their products and you will not be disappointed with this axe and it will last you a lifetime.

I love my X27. One or two hit splits all day. Easy to swing since it's so light. Wide enough head to send the cracks to the bottom. Durable as hell too. Have had many overstrikes and it has yet to crack after 7 years. Best $50 I ever spent.

"So we're going to use responsibly sized pieces of wood..."

I'm just an amateur, but I chop wood for my parent's fireplace once a year (they're too old). A few years ago, some friendly forest rangers here in the netherlands saw me work and lended me their X27 for a few hours. Immediately fell in love with it. Feels like I needed half as much strength for the same result. I was less tired and had waaaay more fun. Ordered one the very next day and refuse to use anything else. A great axe for people like me of normal strength/build, that don't look like Hercules like the OP :]

Nice to see you like it, we make them in Finland, billnäs. I work there as blacksmith for fiskars. :)

I love my Fiskars!! Does the job, NEVER BREAKS, and a friend told me they honor their lifetime warranty. My son used to use it for a splitting wedge with a 16 lb sledge.

I have a Fiskars hatchet that I bought over 20 years ago, and it's still my favorite camping hatchet.

I used one of these all spring. A wind event brought down 2 large white oak trees and 1 larger post oak. All 3 were bigger than 30 inches about 4 feet above the ground. All were across the road at my farm. First job was to get them fully on the ground. Then clear the road and pasture they were in. To move all the rounds I was creating, most of them needed to be split. Tried a Wal-Mart maul. It was worthless. Got serious and drove an hour to town got a couple of splitting wedges, a Fiskars splitting axe and Fiskars splitting maul and 4lb 18" hammer. The splitting axe is great. The maul is even better. For tougher stuff, the wedges and hammer work best. Learned it isn't how hard you swing the maul. Let the weight of the maul do the work. Really green wood is heavy and tough to split. Heavy blows on a wedge, cause it to bounce out. Moderate blows, and the wedge starts digging in. So often, a round wouldn't show much until it suddenly splits. Wear heavy leather gloves for the handle shock. Makes a huge difference.

We finns take a lot pride in our blades, tools and weapons. This is why some of the firearms, knives and now apparently axes are so famous..

Fill the handle with an expanding foam. It will cut down on the vibration to your hands while keeping the weight minimal

As a finn, im honored. I often use a fiskars axe to chop wood at my grandparents house. I mostly either stock the wood in the barn or make a bomb ass firepit to grill on, axe swinging might look easy but its very tiring and a good workout.
