During my senior prom in 2006, a girl a grade below me had the train of her dress go down in the toilet after she peed lol. I don’t know what she did to have that happen, but I felt so bad for her because she had to try and spot clean and use the hand dryer to fix it. Spent 30mins with so many girls trying to help. She took her prom photos with most of the train hidden and her having to stand a certain way to still display the dress while hiding the big damp spots (it was such a beautiful dress, too).


I’m glad the girl could laugh about it, though. Just felt so bad because some of these dresses aren’t cheap, and I knew she had saved up money all summer prior to get it 4-5 months in advance.

My 2004 prom dress was that same style and almost that color. It was mostly shimmery blue/purple with that pink as an accent color. Super popular.

Girl you can still fit your dress! Also, I miss this style of prom dress. No one ever wants to do a ball gown or full skirt anymore. All I see are mermaid dresses nowadays

Edit: I did not expect this response. First off, there is nothing wrong with a mermaid dress AT ALL, if you have the body for a mermaid dress GO FOR IT. Secondly, in my own opinion, I feel like ball dresses are THE ultimate princess prom dress, and that flatter all figures. I wore a pink evening gown for my junior prom which I felt pretty in, for my senior Ball I wore a yellow ball gown with a floor-length black bow on the back. I felt like an actual princess and got so many compliments I couldn't stop dancing, spinning, and taking pictures. Every girl should feel like a princess on her prom night ( and everybody should feel like a prince!). Ultimately, wear what makes YOU feel beautiful like you are THAT girl/boy/other. I personally just like seeing a variety of dresses, cuts, and colors at prom because I like seeing beauty in all it's diverse forms.

I just wear a elastic belt under the dress or keep it in my purse. When it's time to go I fold the dress up in half and put the belt on over the folded part. It then becomes manageable to hold up like a long skirt. Hope this helps 👍🏽
