Most of these are economic migrants, not refugees. A majority that have been interviewed admit that. They just don't want to play by the rules and that's the attitude they will bring with them when they enter the US.

There is no easy solution here and Trump made a tough choice but people could not stomach it. Border security is something that has to be dealt with otherwise it can cause harm for both US citizens as well as the immigrants themselves. It's a difficult problem to solve.

What about the homeless right here in our country? Shouldn't the US citizens have opportunities to these services before migrants? We have to fix ourselves before we can fix anyone else. That's not being heartless or selfish... that's being smart

Law enforcement and the FBI is responsible for domestic crime within our borders. The national guards are primarily used within our borders. The problem is this is an existential threat from militarized crime gangs on the other side of the border, not just here, but in the EU, too. How long are we going to let crime run rampant at our borders?

We have a legal immigration system, one that works when enforced at all our other borders and ports of entry. The problem is, and always has been the fact that the southern border is open land for miles with little to no enforcement of immigration regulations. We could have the perfect immigration system in the world and would still have this crisis as there will always be people seeking to enter this country but would be turned back, and to not risk it they just do anything they can to circumvent going through the process and having to obey the rules and laws and wait their turn. We cannot take in all of South America as well as from other countries world wide who know they can get across in the south without having to go through any formal procedures. There were finally signs that we were getting control of our southern border, and then the administration changed and we were hit with a flood of people who had not tried to come in illegally as they knew it would not work, who now make the trip saying this new president will let them in. Biden is supposed to put the US and US citizens first, but if her would rather ignore the voters north of the southern border and care for those south of it perhaps he should go be president in one of those countries. Maybe he would be happier then as he certainly does not care about the US citizens
