Nikon Z7: Mini-review

You've heard of Lazy Game Reviews - well, this is a Lazy...you know. I really prefer to review camera lenses, but people ask me to all the time, so here you go anyway - hope you find this brief little overview interesting.

As a former Canon shooter, I would watch all of your reviews. My last Canon Camera was a 5D mark ii. Then I switched to Nikon when the D800 was released . I am still shooting with Nikon. I totally agree with you on Canon colors. Looking forward to more Nikon reviews.

You may really like the Z6 as a comparison to the EOS R. The video capabilities are better with the Z6 than the Z7. The Z6 AF is nice but still not as good as the EOS R or A7III. Thanks for the mini review on the Z7!

Good simple overview. The moiré is due to the Z7 not having an OLPF (or anti-aliasing filter), same as with the D810 I have. Yes you can sometime shoot things that cause moiré like fine patterns (think certain lingerie in boudoir, or wedding) but personally i prefer the increased detail for my urbanscape shots you get over the same sensor with an OLPF. (i.e the Z6 for Z mount-land)

Hey glad to see you're liking the nikon. The buttons on the front can be used to start up subject tracking, which only activates in wide area mode. Another thing you could change to help with the button placement is the customfunction f6, release button to use dial. If you turn that on, you can hit the button and then take your finger off the button and still change the setting that the button represents. It makes it a little bit easier. For the z7, it vastly prefers aps-c mode for video, much like my old a7rii. Cheers.

Great news. I'm a Nikon / Fuji user. Been with Nikon 30 years, once your with a camera system (second body, lenses and flashes ) It's hard to change. Enjoying the Fuji system .
