How To Easily Build An Automatic Cow Farm In Minecraft 1.20 + | Java & Bedrock Edition

This is a tutorial on how to Build a Simple and Easy automatic Cow Farm for Minecraft 1.20 in Java and Bedrock edition! This cow farm produces up to two stacks of beef every hour, as well as near a stack of leather! This farm is also perfectly paired with a sugarcane farm to make more books as well!
It required very little materials and can get you twice the amount of beef compared to other farms! Give it a try!

Material List:
2 Fences
3 Signs
1 Hanging Sign
1 Stone Button
2 Water Buckets
1 Lava Bucket
1 Dispensers
60 Solid Blocks (Your choice)
9 Glass (Can be replaced by solid blocks)
3 Stairs of your choice
2 slabs of your choice
1 Mud Block
6 Ladders
1 Hopper
2 Chests.

If you are having trouble having the cow farm work in java edition here are some tips.

1. Replace hanging sign with a regular sign.
2. Make sure you placed water on the slab.

Baby cows do not fall down as shown and just get stuck up at the top as of 1.20.2 Java. Absolute waste of time.

If your baby cows aren't dropping. Replace the hanging sign with a normal one and place another sign below it. Destroy the stairs (so the water drops a block) and the baby cows should drop more often (they may jolt to each side a little but will fall after a few seconds.)

Doesn't work in the most recent update as the babies get stuck most of the time instead of falling down the middle, but using a regular sign against the back wall instead of the hanging sign fixes the issue.

when i started breeding the cows after having 24 in each hole to start the actual farm they just died to entity cram and the babys never droped down

I'm in Java 1.20.1 here is a few things I have done to get my farm to work

1. Place your water on the side slabs, not on top of the stairs
2. Replace your stairs with slabs (do not put water on these)
3. Replace the hanging sign with a normal sign
4. I have replaced the button with a lever, when you see a grown cow just spam it 4 times and let the cow burn (otherwise the leather will burn)

Also if you breed the cows too fast, sometimes they will entity cram and kill themselves when they grow up.

Also while I did build this farm you should know this farm is not automatic, if you have to do anything manually it is not automatic (feeding the cows and pressing the button), if anything this is just a way to make cow farming easier especially if you do not have fire aspect yet.

This does not work. I have tinkered with this model for a couple of hours and it's just extremely unreliable. The baby cows won't drop half the time through the water, drowning the fathers in the process and giving you an awkward mix of raw and cooked meat. The baby cows will sometimes fly from one cow container to the other because of the water streams being so adjacent to each other, possibly killing even more cows in the other container.

There are overall other, more reliable ways of doing this.

Can we please stop such clickbait shit like "Automatic farm". Nothing about this farm is automatic. You have to press a button to kill them and you have to manually breed them. Now this doesn't mean that this is a bad farm or anything, but it isn't an automatic farm!

Yeah that's not what automatic means, you still have to do everything by hand.
The lava generator is easily automated by using observers. The feeder would have to be over 5 minutes (breeding cooldown time) which is too long to vbe reliable, but could be tried with a long delay circuit.
