Burnout is an inevitable part of being in a creative industry. Even after you've become a successful artist, there will come a time when you're just not feeling inspired anymore. Here are a few things that I do to get back into a creative state.

Things I've worked on:
Overwatch (PC, PS4)
League of Legends (PC)
Diablo 3 (PC,PS4)

Thank you me from the past. I really needed to hear this today.

I never feel burnout as a result of being overworked. It always comes from a sense of failure and creates a feedback loop that leads to a sense of hopelessness that's very difficult to break out of.

The worst thing is a burnout and a depression combo. It's really hard to break

childhood is so fearless, creative, imaginative, no worries about anything of being judge, attention or status in public. it so interesting how freedom we was way back then.

You're awesome man!!
I'm just coming out from a heavy burnout (low money, low on gigs, tired of drawing, the feeling of going nowhere), and felt a bit guilty of the temptation of playing some Megaman X series that I loved so much in their times. But I've played, I went to Guild wars and draw some of the landscapes somewhere in that world, and watched some of those Macross episodes that I love so much!!
And know just to seal off that burnout, watched this video and let me tell you: I'm F***ing ready to roll again!! Yeah baby!!

Good timing.. almost filled a sketchbook with anatomy practice in the first week of this year but found I don’t even know what I wanna draw with my new skills.. not feeling the joy of it all. Really considering it’s actually best for my to really just make myself take a break and come back fresh

For me it's dinosaurs. One natural history documentary and I'm fired up again.

Watching an "old" movie like The Lord of the rings, Aliens, Die Hard...great characters, always get my mind moving forward and giving that nudge! Listening audiobooks also great as you don' t have any visuals, just the story so you are free to create that world, characters so on. I often listen stand ups ( Robin Williams, Dave Chapelle..), makes me laugh and more relaxed in my mind; humour is like spring cleaning for the mind! :)

Trent ... You put a tear in my eyes. I'm struggling so much because social networks and the "likes" and all those things that I forgot the reason why I was doing all this ... And it's taking my ideas to people in a way that everyone has fun. Excellent video and excellent painting. Thank you for making all this content <3

Started watching Trents vids today. This is number 4. This is the first one that gave me the impression that he's pretty decent at drawing. My motivation as a child for doing art was originally the feelings of empathy my art expressed at the pain in my life. Unable to find other ways to express my childhood crisis's, art was a self guided copping process that lasted for years. Right now it's hard to find motivation to do art; but I certainly don't want to go back to where it all began.

I think my love for art kind of came from me just watching a bunch of cartoons and reading loads of books. This was really helpful, I am just going through that creative rut and hopefully I'll get out of it soon 😅

Like with anxiety - the more overwhelming the situation is, the more the answer is YOU. Instead of holding the sun with a pitchfork, preventing it from falling on the Earth - calm down, go to the gym, grab a meal, call your grandma, play with the dog, do the dishes, watch a movie... watch a Trent video, leave a hypocritical comment of recommendations that you yourself should be doing, drink some probiotics, take a nap...

Ive been really burnt out lately. Honestly I haven't been working too much recently because i've been so judgmental on myself. Im currently working on a manga series and i've been focusing so much on making it so other people would like it even tho i didn't. Ive somewhat lost touch of my childish creative self. I remember not caring what others thought about my art, as long as I liked it, i didnt care if others hated it. And as soon as i started caring so much about others opinions, ive burnt myself out over and over, its constant burnout, wait, run back, burnout, wait, runback, and the cycle repeats. Thank you man I appreciate this video, doubt you read all of this comment but yeah. Also sweet drawing!

I'm an art student and I'm not excellent so I try to spend more time than other to progress in the courses I like, sometimes it's rough and I start asking myself if that's what I really want to do. with these kinds of moment where I get to rest I'm getting all my confidence and passion back up ^^ it feels good to hear that other people got through it and it help to get a step back. Thank you !
