If you throw 2 dice at once, your posibles outcomes are 2 (5+6 and 6+5), and your total dice faces are 12 (6 on each dice). Why is 2/12= 16.6% wrong? Can someone explain

Pretty Easy, I was confused with the 1/6 Thing but I later on understood. It’s basically how many ways are there that 11 will come out divided the total numbers in a dice.

Do not use the formula you can write 6^2=36 and we have to find the addition of 11 it can be 5and6 or 6and5 there are two possiblity so we can write 2/36=1/18

the way you explained this is so confusing!! watch the probability on dice lesson -3 it is way easier to understand. You don't get confused about when to multiply versus divide

Technically, this explanation appears sound. However, the common sense part of the whole problem has been forgotten, absolutely. Remember, this is a one time rolling of two dice (one session). For example, when the event (one die rolled gives 5 and the other 6) occurs, we do not need to be concerned any longer about the other (6 and 5) and vice versa. Therefore, we compute the probability of occurrence of only one of the 2 events and forget about the other event. Eventually, we may be interested in knowing which event (higher probability) is more likely to occur and take that into account.
