On qn 4.1.1
When finding x :
P(A&B) = P(A) × P(B)
0.1 = (0.1+x) × (0.1+0.3)
0.1 = (0.1+x) × 0.4
0.1 = (0.1+x)0.4
0.1/0.4 = (0.1+x)0.4/0.4
0.25 = (0.1+x)
0.25 = 0.1 + x
0.25-0.1 = x
0.15 =x

Isn't this the correct calculation

sir, I don't understand why we used that formulae in 11.2.2 and 11.2.3 . Take for instance 11.2.2, they asking the propability of two calculators chosen, one s defective and the other one is not, which we do have the outcome of that from the 'tree diagram' .i thought e would use the 'intersection formule' .Since on the question we have 'and'' . Please get back to me sir
