Edit: since apparently 10 out of 10 can't take the time to read further comments I have made, yes, that does *not* give them Carte Blanche to take that trauma (because that's exactly what it is, trauma) out on their kids. They need to grow up, process their problems like a healthy adult, and get some counseling. In some cases, it's gonna take a lot of hugs, and maybe even a lot of drugs. To those of you who understood the comment, thank you, you the *real* ones. To LITERALLY everyone else, this comment was not excusing but rather *explaining* their behavior. Haha, the street lights were never truer, and of course, the water hose! This stems from our parents yelling at us for running in and out of the house, and nine times out of ten, it went something like, "If you come inside one more time, you are staying in for the rest of the day and can't go back out until tomorrow." Of course, that was said to me by my mom, shouting at the top of her lungs. My favorite one was my grandma, though. As a kid, I loved climbing trees, and pretty much every time, it was the same speech: "Get down from there; you are going to hurt yourself!" My grandfather, on the other hand, when I fell out of a tree and broke my wrist, just looked at me and said, "Well, what did you learn?" 😂🤭 It took me three different times falling from a height to learn the hard lesson, but I got there in the end. Hahaha!

as gen z, i was also raised on hose water and neglect. most gen x parents raised their kids the way they themselves were raised, which meant the belt, the hose, and a very *very* drunk dad

I love how you can always tell which generation someone who makes “generational comedy” videos like this is. Without even looking at them. Like even if you looked like you were in your 20s you lost all credit of even passing as gen Z the second you thought any of us were actually trying to start beef with gen x. It was like 3 people and half of gen X responded to it for no reason.
