Can you sell unused video clips that were shot for a client funded music video/fashion film/commercial video? Also, if there was no contract between you and the client—does that make a difference?

Hi, I shot a clip on a beach during sunset with about 10-15 people in
the background and a child in the foreground. I would like to sell it as commercial, the sunset is beautiful
and the people are just silhouettes, but I am a bit worried if somebody
can sue me for not having model release for those silhouettes. I think
the people aren't recognizable but I am just starting out so I would
like to hear your opinion.
