Remember they sent Leon down to the minors to play before he was a regular. Gotta nurture these young players, especially getting steadydefensively. He, ll be back and is a big part of the team.

The thing is, the Oilers didn't really play in the preseason. Yeah, there were some guys fighting in hopes of making the roster, but the majority of the team just kind of went out and skated around for a few hours. Why risk getting hurt in games that mean absolutely nothing?

All the teams in the league are trimming their rosters now, it’s super safe to waive players, roster spots have to be earned.

I dunno. He has genuine promise to be a high end third liner, maybe even second. let him go down and play a ton of minutes, it will be better than have him play a few minutes of the fourth line.

Confident in most of the players but the D is a worry outside of Bouch and Ekholm. It really depends on which Darnell Nurse we get (and if he takes the knee). I haven't seen enough Emberson to say one way or the other if he's okay. Kulak is Kulak and he turns it on in the playoffs but is meh until then. Flip a coin for the rest. In the bottom 6 my biggest concern is candidly Corey Perry. I seriously doubt he plays 2/3rds of the games and wouldn't it be better to have Philp playing Center and Ryan on the wing (as a just in case I can sub in center if needed) and park Perry in the AHL (which gives us MORE cap space)?
