My Hubby was (now retired) an Officer in a small town. He would often stop when he saw a group of kids playing... he would shoot a few hoops, bat a few balls, throw a few footballs or just stop and BS.... when the kids would see him at local stores when he was off, they would run up and give him a hug or shake his hand. THAT'S how you police your community.
