We don't fly, but mosquitoes do. Bats fly, but their parasite flies don't. The irony of parasitic dipterans.

That is definitely a weird looking insect. I follow a couple of bat rescue channels, so I was familiar with bat flies. But I've never seen them magnified or in slow motion like this. And you know what? They're actually weirder and creepier than I thought. 😅

OMG I've seen this already in a injured pigeon I've happend ran into, like 25YA! They are RIDICULOUS FAST and for HALF A CENTURY, I could not believe in my eyes. This is a VERY SPECIAL moment to me. Thx😊

I once saw a dying bat, probably from exhaustion. I saw those creature and tried to take it away from it but were too fast, swiming and diving into the hair at incredible speed.
