How a narcissist uses DARVO to abuse you

Yep!! My narc does this in front of his friends, they everyone takes his side & says I’m the unreasonable one.
It worked when I didn’t realize this tactic. Now I see right through it & I don’t fall for it.

Yes all is true. They put on a good show. Also narcissist will play like you're getting them sick because they lack attention. And then they start a petty fight over anything to attack you.

Yes. I asked if he felt he oversteps my boundaries, as the therapist has said..if he disrespected me, by things he’s done..per therapist..he denies doing that..saying he loves me, that’s why he does what he does.

Yes this is exactly what my narcissistic boyfriend does to me all the time. Especially the role reversal and blaming.

My ex did this on a recent cruise that we were on with My family. He did everything that was said in this video. He was trying to take a ticket to an excursion that I was going to go on, the next day, be cause I wasn't responding to the things he was saying. He was standing over me trying to take the ticket so I used my foot to push him off of and away from me. NOT hurting him. I was accused of assault and told to leave the cruise ship from Jamaica (day 4 of a 6 day cruise). He physically and verbally harassed me in front of crew and other cruisers. They allowed him to stay on the ship. SMH

Who taught the narcissist to behave like that in the first place, did they learn it from their parents? It boggles my mind how they are always one step ahead of everything they do.

My ex wife did this all the time. I have to deal with her because of the kids and she still tries to trigger me.

You can tell who is the narcissist out of the victim and the narcissist. One is always trying to get away, the other is always stopping you getting away.

Yes, DARVO was like every conversation with my ex. Also, they can reverse the roles without you even reacting. It just comes so naturally to them. It can seem almost comical like a child, “you don’t have any reason to feel unsafe, I’m the one who feels unsafe. I don’t feel safe with YOU”… I don’t know if others experienced this, but I felt like my husband’s rages got even worse when I stopped reacting to him, like he was pushing harder to try to get me to react.
