I agree absolutely with everything you had to say about openSuse, especially the part about the installer, unfortunately for me, while I was installing openSuse, it deleted my main OS, my Manjaro, it doesn't matter so much, since then I have reinstalled Manjaro and currently use OpenSuse more than Manjaro in my daily work

Thanks OTB!! I use many distros but I have to say opensuse is one of my favorites. Always stable for me. I always use the net installer installing mate and lxde. 😀

very nice review of Opensuse, i did't know you could add Mate when choosing the Generic install. I once booted up 15.0 and just saw gnome and KDE and moved one, when i could't find MATE :)

that's really interesting to hear someone who is not an actual sysadmin but use gnu/linux. Such information could be very usefull for further UI/UX development. I think.

Haha, on VB it's of course easier, you don't get all those driver issues. I love openSUSE but had to give up on installing it on a system with a slightly older nVidia card (first the installer, then trying to install the drivers with zypper, and finally the hard way from the kernel...). So it's great but if you don't have mainstream hardware, make sure to plan ahead and to be ready to spend a lot of time troubleshooting. Those nouveau drivers don't help either.

How on earth can you destroy such a great distro wich such an terrible, old fashion DE? Oh wait, you're old yourself. openSUSE and KDE form a great combination, that's what you should use.
