Does wearing just a cowboy hat make a character look like a cowboy? In this episode, we take a look at what makes a Gue'vesa and if you are going to design your own, what are the key design features you should take note of when designing your own force

I dont think its a coincidence that the weapon > helmet > shoulder hierarchy is directly correlated to their influence on the silhouette! Silhouette is one of the fastest pattern recognizing things we can register, and has a huge influence on design.

The ting ting ting of brushes is always a furfilling sound. Great job for the greater good!

Some of those outfits really remind me of the protagonist from an old N64 game called Body Harvest, mostly the helmets with large chrome visors. It's a really striking look that I don't see very often elsewhere!
Thanks for putting this together, it was really helpful going through it step by step.

I was listening to Ciaphus Cain audiobooks recently and in the first book the majority of the Tau sympathizers wore top knots to show their support. I think that would be a cool detail to add to unhelmeted Gue'vesa too

just wanted to mention that i could not keep up with your release schedule. The result was that you tube just show me your shorts. So now I switched to Abo -> show all.

I liked your version very much, it resembles the tau sci fi aesthetics (rather than steampunk of the mechanicus)

Hey can you guys make a video about the Howling Griffons? Or just a video on quartered armies in general? The psychology, design philosophy, benefits and negatives of having two primary colors as your color scheme. Brazen Claws are also a great example. Thanks!

Mr. flint could also fit in with Necromania/Rouge Trader setting with a Cold Trade weapon funny enough

wow. I'm doing a warhammer-themed tabletop (we're doing Blades in the Dark rules, but use Kill Team for combat as an excuse to use 40k minis) and I was really thinking about putting some gue'vesa together because one of my players really likes t'au.

Good video.

Where did you get those helmets from? They look a bit like Halo helmets. I love them!

There’s something about the title Design Delve that causes the autism in my brain to spike with dopamine

Tau Auxiliaries are the most interesting part of the Tau faction.
Way more interesting than their Gundams, if you ask me.

It depends on your priorities. For instance, this would be accurate for auxiliarys with the fire caste. However, the Gue'vesa equivalent of PDFs often use imperium weapons because they're cheap, know how to make them, and often already have them and are already trained on them. If that's your intent, it's entirely fair and valid to prioritize lore over design.

Interesting, but I'm unsure how easy it would be for humans to use alien tech unless the humans had extensive training in the use of the tech, the tactics employed by the Tau & language skills to bring it all together.

The first E of GuE'vesa is not pronounced? It feels weird to me to hear "Gu'vesa" 😅

Miss me with this...

Consider this, why would you give a traitor a gun, especially when they have high chance fighting they're former friends and allies? It's like asking to be stabbed in the back. (In real world terms think of how many of your mates collect some sort of Imperial army in some form.)
My other objection is that they are just "lazy" as Tau auxiliary/ allies, I'd much prefer to bring forth an original species in their stead.
