Boat is Sinking ! Boater Panics and Destroys Boat ! (Chit Show)

This is why I don't like open transom boats. Today we have a boat that his sinking and gets escorted by Miami Dads Police back to the boat ramp. While sinking the boater panics and crashes to the dock really really hard . My name is Alfred Montaner Host of the Chit Show in Miami

The boat that was sinking, was really sinking. We were 5 miles from Elliot Key or so, easily more than halfway across the bay. We had a soft spot in the hull near a roller that we were unaware of. Boat was taken out a week prior with no issues. Bilge worked going out of the channel without a problem, but became clogged by debris in the hull and stopped working. Knew something was up when the bow went up (across the bay) and the throttle never changed. Had to stand in the bow to get on plane 2 times and after the 2nd time getting on plane the captain noticed we were taking on water in the back (bilge was clogged/stopped working). All plugs and bottom plug were in correctly. Ended up turning around, pulling a drain plug and opening the cover for the bilge to check/drain while I bailed water out of the back out the whole way in. Brand new engine wasn’t going down with that boat that’s why we came in so fast with MDCP who did a great job.

If you are escorting a boat taking on water, why take the easy side of the dock. Give the captain, who absolutely has no idea how to con a boat, the tide side dock. Still no excuse to ram the dock at that speed. Especially if you are going to beach it to save it.

They must've hit something and started taking on water. The plug was in and they removed it after pulling it out of the water. Two people also got down to look at the bottom of the hull as they were pulling the plug. Looks like they punched a nasty hole in the port side gunwale on the corner of the dock as they were coming in. That was unfortunate. Glad no one got hurt, hope it's not too expensive to repair.
