On passenger ships and airliners the life vest are stowed away and put on if there is an emergency. That's not how you do it on small boats. Wear them.

This is simple, tilt, the motor outwards, and the front of the boat will kick up in the air to avoid water getting over.
I drive a small boat in the water recreationally. Fishing sometimes and I don't even have the ability to tilt my motor, like he does, and I get out of rougher waves than that.

Spend the money and get a Boston whaler, they are designed for this. If the water comes over the bow it will exit the stern. It's impossible to sink the boat. You can literally operate it without a drain plug in. If you're going to be ignorant at least try to do it safely 👍
