Thanks! I’ve done this before and never really think about it, last night I was smellling a very faint smell of gas and remembered I didn’t tape it clockwise when installed my new gas dryer, lesson learned don’t rush it w gas lines, came here just to make sure I wasn’t overthinking it!

Yellow is for gas which you should only use black iron pipe

Its rolled backwards on the pipe. Need to be rolled on with the direction the fitting (clock-wise).

u should tuck the tape inside thread using Teflon tape roller side as well...
