When you choose drugs over your kids, you deserve to lose them. Yes, I'm speaking to you, family members.

Dad looked cracked out while mom was living in a car. Grand parents did a good job.

My gf was psychologically abused by her own mother. When her grandmother was alive, her grandmother would care for her the way she deserved it. It really pains me to see how horrible parents can be when you have great parents yourself. It's really a reality bomb.

I was raised by my grandpa who took me away from the drama of my parents and although I lost him, I’d honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️ grandparents are blessings.

The grandparents had abducted their grandson since twenty years, and changed their address and names, and the parents didn't suspect anything FISHY going on ?

You can't even be remotely mad at the grandparents. Look how the kid turned out to be. He was well raised, and had the childhood he deserved. Simple as that.

The grandparents are legends. They’re responsible for saving his life

This is the most amazing and best result for a family that never knew what happened. Glad he's OK.

This definitely isn’t worse case scenario, it’s best case, at least the people who raised him loved him and took care of him and did what they did outnof some sense of being protective.

So the grandparents and the child went missing at the same time and nobody thought that there was a connection?? So much for investigating the obvious!!!

Richard’s grandparents risked everything and sacrificed their whole lives, to give Richard a good life and a stable and loving home .
They really are heroes! 💚

Our grandparents are angels from earth, I don’t know how I would’ve survived without mine. God bless them

In an interview for cbs news the young man’s father told him he can not afford a ticket to fly and see him and doesn’t know his number but tells him he loves him. That should be enough to tell you exactly why that boy was saved.

I sincerely thank those grandparent's for saving that boy from what would certainly have been a traumatic and miserable childhood and probably also adulthood
They are heroes

This is so sad, no one deserves to live in Minnesota

The father never tried to get in contact with his parents in all that time? What kind of family is that? I don't understand how the father's parents could have "abducted" the boy and gotten away with it for so long.

I'm glad my grandma raised me! My mom was running around with different men all the time, and my dad raised my step sister who now has 2 kids with 2 different guys, right after Highschool.
Grandparents know what's up!

I was also raised by one of my grandmas, and I can tell you hands down it was the best childhood I could have had. Moat of my family died when I was a kid or teenager and living with my grandma whom was a very kind and intelligent person that loved me dearly and truly helped me in life...well...I remember it like she was my mother, which she was from most points of view. This kid was lucky, nothing against his parents but....
