While all intensity zones and their associated adaptations can support most middle / long distance events, some become a larger point of emphasis for different athletes.
For example, a 1500m runner probably needs to spend more time focusing on a VO2 max stimulus while a marathoner may place a larger majority of their training closer to an LT1 stimulus. 🏃🏻♂️💨
This is due to event specificity! A VO2 max pace is much more specific to a 1500m athlete than a marathoner. 🧬👟
