How to Adjust Side Mirrors Properly in Your Car?

If you adjust your mirrors out to be centered on the lane next to you (you will not see your car), when a car is driving in a lane next to you coming up behind you, it will go from your back mirror to your side mirror almost right away, depending on your vehicle, size of your back panels, etc. There may be a small blind spot which is why you should always look over your shoulder to check, but for the purpose of switching lanes it’s best to keep it that you see a car go from your rearview mirror to side mirror basically right away. That is the SAE method. A reason why you might put your mirrors inward is if you are driving in a neighborhood because you might want to see closer to your car to see if a child on a bike rolls up behind you close.

I Disagree. There is no reason to watch your door handle. The proper way is adjust to where you allude to, then slightly more AWAY from the door handle to see as much of the blind spot as possible. What good is it to watch your door handle other than a benchmark for adjusting the mirror?

And again i use the SAE method to eliminate the blindspot this method has a lot of blindspot tendencies and not good

Except if its a ute with fitted out canopy that is wider than the cabin of vehicle.
