North Carolina City Will Give Reparations to Black Residents | NowThis

Asheville, North Carolina, says it is giving reparations to its Black residents for systemic racism perpetuated by the city since its founding in 1797.

In US news and current events today, the issue of reparations to make up for the cruel injustice, inequality and systemic racism that arose as a result of slavery has come to the forefront in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement. This Asheville reparations experiment in Asheville, NC, is a test to see how a system of US reparations could work. The issue of USA reparations is a complex and tricky one, but the way this North Carolina reparations act is going could be a good start. The issue of Black reparations and slavery reparations cannot be unaddressed in the pursuit of racial justice, racial equality and the end of systemic racism, and this NC reparations could be the path forward.

The real question is how do you quantify reparations? A big O’ sorry ain’t gonna cut it. I can guarantee many blacks will say that it will not be enough!

So when are blacks going to pay us reparations for their massively disproportionate consumption of welfare dollars while they pay the least into the system of any race? I'm just wondering, because I'm rather tired of paying for single black mothers to support their 5 kids with 3 different "baby daddies" who are constantly in and out of prison while they blame ME for their pitiful life choices.

There is no CASH payments and the key word in the bill is MINORITY not BLACK. We need the bill to say BLACK. The asian have an economic deal JUST for them. The Hispanics have one JUST for them. This needs to be for US ALONE not MINORITIES.
