Madagascar is one of the worlds largest islands, red from the colour of the earth, and full of tropical life. We meet Elysee a botany student with a fascination for her country’s national tree: the baobab. Soloda is a vaso, which is a group of nomadic coastal inhabitants who lives in an isolated village on the Mozambique channel. And Gil, a Frenchman has lived on the island for over 20 years, and has made his home in the foothills of the mountains working on reforesting the valley where he lives.

Sooo hard to find REAL travel docs anymore. Everything is a lame "travel" vlog hyper narcism project. This is great, so glad I found it. Reminds me of growing up watching Globe Trekker which actually followed people in the region & their lives & gave some history; obviously for a younger generation but this is great now that I'm a BIT...older. :)

I really wish I could plant Baobab trees in Oregon where I live. Such an absolutely beautiful tree. Sadly, they only grow in areas warm year round :(

I sailed from RSA to Madagascar in 2007. It is a beautiful and historically interesting also. The people were friendly and helpful. Truly enjoyed the four. week stay.. then sailed to the Commores.

I had a dream over 30 years ago and in it, I saw trees like this. I had never seen them or knew they actually existed until watching this video.

Not only is the Documentary exceptional your voice adds to it. As a hearing impaired person your tone of voice just suites my hearing aid and make it an enjoyable experience to watch your documentary. Keep up the good work and God Bless You.

We could learn a lot from cultures like this. They love and appreciate nature, have very few possessions and they don't waste resources.
