Most linings are not silk, but polyester unfortunately. Polyester will make it too hot, since it's not breathable. I doubt you can find natural silk lining in the store. The second best option will be viscose, it's inexpensive and breathable.
Silk maybe high maintenance, can trap odor and a little bit worth at keeping you cool, it's better for colder weather as a lining.
There are multiple other options, but I would always stay away from polyester linings.

Blazer looks tired😂. The most accurate description of look of fast fashion I’ve heard.

Ralph Lauren are my go to for Blazers. I love the timeless quality and so stylish at the same time 😎

To me these two blazers are fundamentally different, for different purposes... the second one is definitely for work, cooler temperatures and one for regular use, the first one is a summer option that you'd chose for certain outfits only and not wear all the time, it'd be more about the fun color to me than something you'd need for durability.
I still have blazers from like 10 years ago that weren't expensive, they last just fine. Although I do agree that polyester still sucks.

I’ve been trying to up my wardrobe and just didn’t know how because I didn’t know what to look for. Your page is so helpful!! I don’t mind paying more if it’s for quality, but I’ve learned the hard way price doesn’t give you the indication of quality one would hope it would!

I remember walking around Zara and being very disappointed with the blazers, as I'd been working in an Indochino (suit store) and gotten used to half-canvas, fully lined suit jackets with structured shoulders. They do fit women's suit btw but I'm sticking with the men's fit and not their women's jacket lol

I have a black recycled cotton blazer from H&M that ticks all the (other than wool) boxes that I love!

Kind of going off this blazer video, I’d love to see your thoughts on what makes a good winter pea coat and what to look for!

if you’re allergic to wool, are there any other good materials to look for?

I think it's important to remember the purpose of the blazer for you and your lifestyle. There are quality blazers that are unstructured (dropped shoulders) and some might not have a back vent. These are great tips for not to choose something cheap, but I wouldn't be concerned about following this too strictly.

What about a summer blazer? Wool would be too hot for the summer?

Your videos are so informative. Thankyou. I double check all labels on the inside before buying now.

I appreciate the tips on what details to look out for, especially when buying pieces to wear often and to last for a long time.
In this case, I would probably go for the H&M one as a casual jacket to smarten up jeans & t-shirt.

Similar to another comment, not everyone has the economic means of spending 100s on one piece of clothing.

What do you recommend for people that need to wear a blazer say once a year but want it to look decent? I don't want to spend tons of money and it doesn't need to be super durable

What about blazers where it's too warm most of the year for wool?

I have rarely found working buttons on the sleeves of womenswear blazers (Brooks Brothers, Burberry, Ann Freedberg- ok, I’m showing my age!). If you do, BONUS! for the attention to detail & construction!
