It was a beautiful boy. He had a straight nose and fair skin. His fluffy brown curls looked like a field of wheat swaying gently in the wind, melting into the warm sunlight. When his beautiful emerald green eyes looked up at you, you would have thought you were being trusted and relied upon wholeheartedly by some innocent little creature. I remember that afternoon， when he stood in the sunlight and gave me the cutest smile I could ever imagine. He was like my sun, the kind that wouldn't burn me, giving a pure light that I could never embrace while hiding in the shadows under the eaves.
Whenever I think about it, I smile from the bottom of my heart, as if this cold body of mine possesses a warmth too. But I knew it was time to say goodbye to all that. That faint bit of warmth gradually cooled.
I lifted him ever so gently, with such ease, even though he was a head taller and much heavier than I was. He lay obediently in my arms, like a quiet doll, breathing weakly and not even able to make the slightest movement. His torso trembled slightly, which told me he was still alive. I carried him into the bathroom, blood sliding down his arms that hung limply at his sides, dripping onto the opulent marble floor like a blood-red flower in bloom, or like petals falling with the wind as the flower faded. I lowered him into the tub filled with hot water. A warm mist rising from it and softening his twisted features. I thought it might make him feel better.
The Victorian-style shirt waistcoat on him was getting soaked with water, showing a darker, more depressing red colour than usual. I remembered it was my 22nd birthday present to him, and the way he was so happy then was still etched in my mind: he kissed me, pulled me round in circles, and then wore that shirt for a week straight. But, no matter how much I liked him doing it, today was the last time he wore it.
I gently stroked his cheek, trying to smooth out those hideous scars. I looked into his eyes once again: those beautiful, emerald-like pupils were out of focus and had lost their former splendour, the light in them dimming little by little. It was as if he was looking past me at something, or maybe he wasn't looking at anything, perhaps he couldn't see anything now.

"'Tink' a silver blade slipped from his palm and gently knocked against the bottom of the bath with a crisp, resounding sound. It was the thing he had tried to send into my heart, and he still held it tightly until the last moment. He knew it was the deadliest thing for a dark creature like me, he knew that now. He knew now that I was a foul, vile creature who depended on blood to survive，fearful of sunlight and silver. He knew all my weaknesses. But he didn't know how much I love him. I've dreamed of all the possible endings with him, not once have I ever wanted to hurt him, but I have no choice.
Something came out of my eyes and slid down my cheeks, dripping into the pool water. The liquid was salty, bitter and cold. Even with tears, I couldn't ooze warm liquid like a human would. Everything that flowed from me was not as warm as it should be, so perhaps I was such a cold monster in his eyes.
He seemed to sense that I was there, and his lips trembled violently as if he had used his last ounce of strength. He looked as if he was trying to say something, but the sticky blood that had built up in his throat made the production of any syllable incredibly difficult, leaving him with nothing more than a slurred sound like bubbles rolling in a drowning water. I watched in agony as he tried, but never got to hear his last words. It wouldn't have mattered even if it had been a curse, but God seemed unwilling to show me any mercy. I gently closed his disoriented eyes, and felt the last bit of his body heat fading under my hands.
"I love you." I heard my voice shaking, so haggard, so tired, so faint that I could barely hear myself.
I landed a kiss on his neck. The crimson liquid was like drops of ink in clear water, slowly blooming a flower of despair in the water, staining everything around us and flooding his body too.
