It's been 48 hours since Anastasia transition from human to vampire. It was the only way to save her from the fever. Drac sat at the foot of her bed watching her breathe hoping to catch her opening her eyes. The transition wasn't normal, it was brutal, painful, and dangerous. He couldn't turn her which hurt him the most. Kathleen, her maid and companion, was still asleep on the lounge at the foot of the bed. Drac didn't have the heart to make her leave. All the servants are still dressed in red until Anastasia awakes. The transition worked, the waiting game for her to wake up was long and taunting. Gentry came in the bedroom with a silver tray of coffee and food for Drac. He sat it on the sitting table and walked to Drac.
"Any changes?"
"No."
Gentry put a hand on Drac shoulder, "she'll wake soon. This was the only way to save her the doctors said."
"She sleeps so beautifully Gentry." Drac began to cry.
Gentry smiled, "she does. I brought coffee for you and Kathleen. Poor child must've cried herself to sleep. "
Drac looked at Kathleen, "Anastasia treats her more like a sister than a companion. Noah said she screamed while the doctors were poking Anastasia with the needles. Noah said she passed out from screaming. "
Gentry walked over to Kathleen and brushed her hair away from her face. Her servants dress was crumpled, her cap was on the floor, and tears stained her cheek.
"The bond those 2 formed is just as strong as yours and Anastasia's. Anastasia will wake up soon. Give it time Drac. But you and Kathleen need food in your systems. I brought coffee, and tea cakes."
"Thank you Gentry, " Drac smiled, "I at times wished you were my father. "
"In a way Drac I am. I raised you when your father abandoned you."
Gentry gave Kathleen a gentle shake, "wake up child I brought food. You need to eat to regain your strength. "
Kathleen fluttered her eyes open and lifted herself up to sit up, "has she woken yet my Lord?"
"No Kathleen, but she sleeps so beautifully still. I hope she wakes soon."
Kathleen got herself together and noticed how much of a mess she was, "I am so sorry for the state of mess I'm in my Lord. "
Drac chuckled a bit, "Kathleen you're fine. Just change into another red dress. You're not a servant until Anastasia wakes. Be a sister instead for now."
"As you wish, " she halfway bowed yawning, "I smell coffee. "
"I brought some up." Gentry answered.
"Thank you Gentry. "
"I'll have a servant draw you a bath Kathleen. " Gentry answered.
"Again thank you Gentry. " Kathleen answered pouring her a cup of coffee.
Drac picked up Anastasia hand and kissed it. He pressed her hand against his cheek.
"OH my beautiful rose I hope you wake up soon."
