I brought my newborn into the ER because she was turning blue after feeding. The pediatrician on call did everything other than pat me on the head to say I was just a nervous new mom. He hooked her up to a monitor and walked away without even telling us which number we should be looking at. Eventually he came over and pointed to one of the numbers and said, "That never went below 95, right?" and my husband said, "Actually, it was about 62." Turns out that number was her 02 sats. The pediatrician PANICKED and it turned out he hadn't even set it up to record anything. When my daughter's real pediatrician walked into the ER, she looked ready to rip heads off, and I never saw the on-call pediatrician again. (Baby spent three days in the hospital, and we did get it resolved.)

Gosh, I found it among recommendations and decided to watch, only then noticed that the channel is dedicated to dysautonomia - the thing I was gaslighted about 😆

This really does hit home for me. I have dealt with this for years. I have had symptoms dismissed or not believed from nurses as well as doctors. The one that almost cost me a half of brain was when some plaque in my carotid ruptured. RN's dismissed it as stress and my DR wanted to put on antidepressants and the Cardiologist just upped my meds. 3/4 of a year later i demanded a MRA. Guess what was found. fast forward after numerous syncope episodes trips to the ER other real health issues that were discovered and working with UW Health. The same folks that thought i was nuts are now acknowledging my symptoms. My Primary DR finally said i was unique and is following my progress at UW.

Omg beyond affirming. I have autonomic dysfunction and after a big postviral flare I was having tachycardia episodes at night AND lost the ability to sweat. If I tried to even walk on a treadmill it would stop and tell me to rest until my hr slowed. My first neurologist got angry and told me I was wasting her time and belonged at a psychiatrist.

I sort of appreciate that with covid ppl are believing it more ans taking it more seriously, but all too often I hear things that make it sound like pots is new or connected just to the pandemic. There's a part of me like ok now do you believe me?
Thank you for this!!!

Hey folks, this is real shit. I just got "kicked out as a patient" by my physician for " NOT FOLLOWING ORDERS" . I refused to continue taking a blood pressure medicine due to headaches! My doctor got pissed and dumped me as a patient! Can you believe this? He wouldn't even compromise by trying another medicine. He insisted on the one that gave me headaches." Fuck that I said, I'm not taking it, it gives me headaches!" So I got dumped. Now I have no doctor and no one to refill my insulin. Having trouble finding new doctor bcuz no one taking new patients or my insurance. So I'm just sitting around waiting for a heart attack, stroke or diabetic coma! Wtf!! Is the gaslighting??

Yea we do. I gave up on them. It's not just anxiety. My 13yr old daughter has it to and all we have us each other.

I think most people know what it is. They want to know what they can do about it.
