dafuq? How would workers who are the literal owners of their business be disincentivized to work compared to being employees?

Holy shit. Before they mentioned the thing about the third way I would have given this video about a 6/10 for truth. I mean it's biased, it's vulgarized and kind of wrong, but in comparison to other attempts I've seen, it wasn't bad. Then they declared that third way was a mix of socialism and capitalism. I literally couldn't contain myself. 0/10 for truth. That statement is so absurd that it overrides any of the other halfway accurate statements that were made earlier in the clip.

Hey, BBC, to me it's important to include the arguments of Carl Menger, Ludwig von Mises and Heyek in those videos about socialism, they argued there is no economic calculation under a socialist regime and the value of stuff is determined by subjective concepts.

This was actually an amazing video aside from the criticism which actually made no sense. I get that they have they have to criticise it because the BBC is a liberal institution, but at least give us one that makes some sense.

It is so wrong for a government body to explain politics, the current government body can make their ideology sound best.

The Third way, in the 20's and 30's, was called Fascism.

This is hilarious. I had a conversation with a Swedish high school teacher who claimed to be a socialist. He objected to the idea of mandatory accounting/finance in the schools on the grounds that the math would make Capitalism seem logical to the students.

In the 1930s John Maynard Keynes was talking about a 15-hour work week for grandchildren. Did Keynes ever see a television commercial for automobiles designed to become obsolete? Neither the Left nor the Right advocates mandatory accounting or talks about the annual depreciation of automobiles and other durable consumer goods. How much CO2 in atmosphere is the result of unnecessary manufacturing due to planned obsolescence?

These capitalism-socialism debates are so out of date relative to technology. Increase GDP while ignoring Demand Side Depreciation.

Venezuela, USSR, Cuba, Yugoslavia, Ethiopia, and I could go on are all socialist. If you are to say, "What about 'democratic socialism', where leaders are elected?" To that I say that WWII Germany leader (can't say or my comment will be removed) and Venezuela's leader Chavez were both elected democratically.

When the company doesn't do well, should the workers be saddled with the debt? Just a thought.

As a worker. I dont beleive in handouts. You are either the wolf or the sheep. Do not ask the wolf to feed you. If there is not enough to go around, ofcourse the wolf eats. That's just the way world works. But that's not to say there are no good wolves. There are. And they take care of their employees. But its something we should hope for. Not demand like we deserve it.
